# I Couldn’t Deploy a Website 30 Days Ago. This Week I Shipped My Own.

*And along the way I learned the one thing most people get backwards about AI.*

-----

Thirty days ago, if you’d asked me to build and deploy a website, I would have changed the subject.

I could talk about it. I understood it conceptually. But sitting down and actually *shipping* something live, that someone could visit, click, and contact me through? That belonged to other people. The technical ones. The ones who “do that sort of thing.”

This week I launched my own.

I’m not telling you that to impress you. I’m telling you because thirty days ago I was exactly where a lot of you reading this are right now: capable, ambitious, full of ideas, and quietly convinced that the building part was for someone else.

It isn’t. And I have the receipts.

## What actually changed

I just finished an intensive AI bootcamp, and I went in with one rule for myself: I wasn’t there to collect certificates. I was there to come out able to *do* things I couldn’t do when I walked in.

Here’s what I can do now that I couldn’t a month ago:

- **Create content with generative AI** — images, video, and copy that actually look like a brand, not a template.

- **Build and deploy real apps and websites** — and just as importantly, get them in front of people.

- **Build advanced AI systems and automations** — the kind that quietly take repetitive work off a team’s plate.

- **Use Claude deeply** — not as a toy, but as a genuine work and product engine.

- **Apply business intelligence and AI transformation** — turning messy data and slow processes into something that moves.

But a list of skills is cheap. Let me show you what came out of them.

## The proof

**My own brand and website.** I designed a full brand identity, my logo, my colours, a stylized portrait, and built a live site around it. The thing you’d have caught me avoiding a month ago.

**An application for church call-centre agents.** This one matters to me. I built a working tool to help the agents who serve our church community handle calls and follow-ups without drowning in manual work. Real software, solving a real problem, for real people I care about.

> **Three websites for three different businesses.** Not practice projects, actual sites for actual businesses, each with its own identity and purpose.

>**And video content that sells.** I’ve been producing AI-assisted UGC-style video ads, learning how to make content that stops the scroll and actually moves product.

Thirty days. From “that’s for other people” to all of this.

## The thing most people get backwards

Here’s the lesson I keep coming back to, and it’s the part I most want you to take away.

Everyone right now is racing to *add* AI. Bolt a chatbot on. Generate some content. Automate something. And that’s fine, but almost nobody stops to ask the boring question underneath it:

**Is the foundation even solid?**

I sit in an unusual spot. Through Star Orbit Network Ltd, I spend my days getting people and organisations *online* — deploying Starlink where regular internet can’t reach, building the literal infrastructure that lets a business function at all. And now I build the AI layer that sits on top of it.

What that’s taught me is simple: **intelligence without infrastructure is a demo. Infrastructure without intelligence is a missed opportunity. The real unlock is both, in the right order.**

You don’t put a Formula 1 engine on a car with no wheels. You get the connection reliable first. Then you make it smart. That order is where most of the value actually lives, and it’s the order most people skip.

## So here’s what I can do for you

If you’ve read this far, you probably have something in mind. Here’s where I can help:

- **AI & automation** — content, apps, websites, and systems that take work off your plate and put time back in your week.

- **Connectivity** — fast, reliable internet for homes and organisations through Star Orbit Network, even where others say it can’t be done.

- **The bridge between the two** — getting you solidly online, then building the intelligent tools that make being online pay off.

Whether you’re a business that wants to move faster or someone who just needs the internet to *work*, I’d genuinely like to help.

## What’s next

I’m spending the coming weeks turning everything I’ve built into repeatable services, and I’ll be sharing the process openly here, the wins, the mistakes, and the practical how. If you want to follow a build-in-public journey from someone who was avoiding the “technical part” a month ago, you’re in the right place.

If thirty days could do this for me, I’m very curious what it could do for you.

Talk soon,
